Weekly Photo Challenge: Escape

I have once again been a little remiss in keeping up with my photography blog…you know how it goes – life goes into overdrive and things get missed!  So, when I saw the WordPress photo challenge theme was Escape, (oops, it escaped my attention that I am actually a couple weeks behind!  My bad!) I thought to myself – PERFECT!  Just came back from one of the most beautiful escape destinations in Ontario – the Explorers’ Edge Region!

Misty Morning

Will be writing more about this on my travel blog (Travel Destination Bucket List), but had to share some of my favourite photos.  Little explanation will be required as to why these say escape to me!

First up – Algonquin Park.  This park, dare I say it, is the epitomy of Canadiana!  I can’t believe I have waited this long to finally canoe here!

We can’t forget the magic of the kayak – another perfect escape from the day!  Kayaking on Georgian Bay with White Squall – I could spend days exploring the thousands of islands out there!

Looking for an adrenalin rush to escape – check out the ATV action at Bear Claw Tours – it was all smiles as the excitement took over!

Of course, you can’t jam 3 day of escape and adventure into the schedule without a little luxury…had a night at Muskoka’s Hidden Valley Resort – what isn’t to love about this place!!!

The unparalleled relaxation of your own cottage at Sunny Point Cottages.  Each cottage comes with it’s own canoe – sweet!

And of course….introducing the gang on the #ONTWild adventure!

Many thanks to the people of TBEX, the Ontario Tourism Board and Explorers’ Edge for putting this trip together.  It was a sponsored blogger experience, but as you can see by the photos – the experiences were amazing.  These shots are unedited – it really is that beautiful up there!  I hope you get the chance to experience the stunning beauty of the region!  It’s worth the trip!

    • You know – it really was just like the pictures….I loved my time in the region and plan on returning in the winter to check out the opposite season. Don’t know what to expect but I am sure it will be equally gorgeous!

    • Thanks. The first shot is my favourite too! It was just one of those moments – hard to believe it was at the same place as the action packed ATV tour as the dock was so peaceful after the heart thumping excitement of the ATV!

    • Thanks Erin Marie – it was a wonderful 3 days….these photos were only the tip of the iceberg! And for that photography lesson – any time! Love playing with the camera and only to happy to share any tips I may have!

  2. Did you get any pictures of moose? I would love to canoe Algonquin someday. Have been many times to Quetico, which is similar, but I would love to experience the differences.
